The Tigers have had to wait 104 years for their first appearance at Wembley but it was worth every second of that long, long wait.
Phil Brown's side secured their second place in the Barclays Premier League with a 1-1 victory over Bristol city in the Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off final.
Local hero Dean Windass read the script perfectly as his superb first half volley ensured the Club reached the top flight for the first time in its history in front of over 86,000 fans at the home of English football. In a tight, tense affair, Windass produced the one outstanding moment of attacking quality, but the Tigers also had to defend for their lives.
However the spirit that had got them to Wembley in the first place shone through once again.
